GP DAYS TRACKDAY BILSTER BERG

On August 29, Co-ordSport headed to the breathtaking Bilster Berg Circuit for a track day that will stay with us for a long time. The day before, we loaded our Porsche Cayman S (987) onto the trailer and set off towards Bad Driburg. It was a long drive, but this way we could start the morning of the track day fresh and focused.

The track day was organized by GP Days, an organization known for its professionalism and attracting true motorsport enthusiasts. An organization we enjoy working with! Everything here revolves around safety, fun, and respect for one another. In the morning, we registered and received a GPS tracker. This allows race control to see exactly where you are driving, whether you are going outside the track limits, and to deploy flags and warnings in a timely manner.

It was our first time at Bilster Berg, and it quickly became clear that this circuit is more than just a track: it is an experience. The elevation changes are impressive and the layout challenging. The Mausefalle is a descent that makes your stomach flutter: entering blind, compressions, and constantly searching for the balance of the car. The Bilster Kuppe makes you feel like you are looking “into nothing” as you go over the top. You feel how important trust in your car and your setup is here. Each lap became a little more familiar, while the track continued to challenge us.

Outside of our growing circuit experience and track knowledge of various European circuits, the Cayman S was of course the star of the day. From the very first meters at Bilster Berg, we noticed how well the car was in its element. The Winmax brake pads repeatedly provided the confidence needed for hard braking into corners, while the Heigo roll cage gave the entire car a solid, stiff foundation and offered us that extra feeling of safety.

In the cockpit, the Recaro Pole Positions with Schroth belts kept us firmly in place, even in the tightest sections where the forces were most palpable. At the rear, the substantial GT rear wing provided much-needed downforce, allowing the Cayman to remain surprisingly stable even at higher speeds.

The combination of lightweight bronze Volk Racing TE37 wheels and grippy Nankang AR-1 semi-slick tyres gave the car razor-sharp turn-in and cornering precision. The fully adjustable Moton 3-way suspension also helped us fine-tune the balance and damping to perfectly suit the character of Bilster Berg. With every lap, the Cayman felt a little more like an extension of ourselves.

And then there's the appearance: seeing the striking blue livery time and again is fantastic. The Cayman not only stood out in the paddock, but it also brought a smile to our faces every time the car passed by on the track. Meanwhile, the Garmin Catalyst lap timer kept us sharp by analyzing sectors and lap times, so we knew where we could still gain time.

Finally, the Milltek Sport exhaust provided a soundtrack that completed the experience. The deep, raw sound gave us goosebumps with every acceleration — as if the Cayman itself enjoyed the day just as much as we did.

The weather cooperated: alternating between cloudy and sunny moments, and just the right temperature for both man and machine. It also gave us the chance to take beautiful photos of the Cayman — the blue livery really popped against the asphalt.

After a day full of adrenaline, testing, improving, and enjoying, we returned the car to the paddock without any issues and loaded the trailer for the ride home.

Bilster Berg made an impression. The combination of organization, atmosphere, challenging track, and a car that truly shines made this a day we won't forget anytime soon. Thanks to GP Days for the smooth organization and to our team and the Cayman for the unforgettable experience.
