RP 1 COMPOUND
Technical Description
The EBC RP-1 Racing Brake Pads are a motorsport-oriented brake compound designed to deliver a controlled, progressive braking response with strong modulation. The material has a moderate friction level of approximately 0.45 μ and is engineered to operate consistently from cold up to around 750°C without brake fade. Unlike more aggressive race compounds, RP-1 is tuned for a smoother, more linear pedal feel, allowing greater driver control and precision under braking.
It is particularly suited for vehicles that are highly servo-assisted or heavy on the front axle, where excessive initial bite can reduce control. The compound is designed for track and race use only and is not road homologated in European markets.
