TEIN Street Advance Z

Ride Height and Damping Adjustment

The STREET ADVANCE Z uses a thread type ride height adjustment system, where height is set by moving the lower spring seat up or down, giving a simple and easy to use setup. Damping force is adjustable across 16 levels for compression and rebound together, letting the ride and handling be tuned to preference. The kit is also compatible with TEIN's EDFC range, including EDFC5 and EDFC Active Pro, which allow damping force to be adjusted electronically from the driver's seat, with the higher end units offering cornering, acceleration, deceleration and speed reactive control and, on EDFC5, a learning function.

Construction and Durability

STREET ADVANCE Z uses a twin tube damper structure for longer stroke and lower resistance than a mono tube design, giving a comfortable ride over rough or uneven surfaces at both low and high speed. The shell case is finished with TEIN's green powder coating and their patented 2 layer, 1 bake anti rust treatment, along with the ZTP surface coating for extra protection against stone chips and corrosion. Included springs are cold formed from SAE9254 steel with a minimum tensile strength of 200 kgf per square millimeter, and are powder coated to resist sagging and corrosion over time. On some models with insert type struts, camber angle can be adjusted using eccentric sleeves at the strut.

Kit Contents and Service

STREET ADVANCE Z uses the vehicle's original upper mounts rather than including its own, and some models also use OE dust boots. Thanks to a sealed damper construction, production cost is kept low, allowing the shock absorber to be offered at an incredibly low price point.
