TEIN FS2

Ride Height and Damping Adjustment

FS2 uses a thread type ride height adjustment system, where height is set by moving the lower spring seat up or down for a simple and easy setup. Damping force is 2 way adjustable, combining 16 level simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment with a separate 16 level compression only adjustment, giving a broader range for a wider variety of driving conditions. The kit is also compatible with TEIN's EDFC range, including EDFC5 and EDFC Active Pro, for electronic damping force adjustment from the driver's seat. On strut type suspensions, the lower bracket allows camber angle adjustment by rotating an eccentric washer 180 degrees, and some insert type strut models use eccentric sleeves for camber adjustment instead.

Kit Contents and Service

Each FS2 kit includes an upper mount designed specifically for the vehicle, either a reinforced rubber mount or a pillow ball mount with camber adjustment, with some models using OE mounts where no mount plate is available. Included springs are cold formed from SAE9254 steel with a minimum tensile strength of 200 kgf per square millimeter, and are powder coated to resist sagging and corrosion over time. Unlike TEIN's sealed structure lines, FS2 can be fully overhauled, with revalving also available to update damping force settings to suit preference.

Construction and Ride Comfort

FS2 uses an external reservoir tank for greater oil capacity, sufficient stroke and improved heat dissipation, allowing stable, linear damping force generation, combined with a twin tube damper structure for longer stroke and a smaller repulsive force than a mono tube design. It also features TEIN's Hydraulic Bump Stopper, which converts the impact of a full stroke into heat rather than letting it escape as a repulsive force, keeping the vehicle stable and reducing wear on the damper, useful even in a fully loaded minivan. The shell case is finished with TEIN's green powder coating, patented 2 layer, 1 bake anti rust treatment, and ZTP surface coating for protection against stone chips and corrosion. Conventional bump rubbers must still be fitted alongside the H.B.S. system to avoid damage.
