The new HKS Hipermax S Coilovers
for the 2022 GR86/BRZ
It is no secret that the Toyota GT86 has been an incredibly popular car in the European market. HKS has developed a wide range of aftermarket parts for this application. Following the introduction of the latest GR86 (Gazoo Racing GT86), a custom suspension could not be left behind. To replace the Hipermax Max IV GT series, HKS introduces the new Hipermax S. This new series focuses on performance, drivability, and a comfortable ride, delivering the best ride in HKS history. A perfect balance for the street, without compromise.
Although the dimensions of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation 86/BRZ are the same, HKS has chosen to develop a new set for this type, as the OEM dampers also differ from each other. On the other hand, this has only improved the handling of the GR86, which already has better handling from the factory than its predecessors.

Hipermax S Technology:
The existing “Preload Valve System” has been upgraded to a dual valve, which is more effective in damping irregularities. This significantly improves ride quality without affecting good performance.
Wider range of adjustability: The improved needle jet increases the range of adjustability. This allows for better suspension tuning to suit the conditions. 30 different settings ensure that you can switch between a comfortable driving mode or a harder performance driving mode.
Spring strength of 5kg/mm in the front and 6.5kg/mm in the rear. After extensive testing, they opted for a higher spring strength than previous versions, which benefits handling and stability.
Evolution of the bump stop rubbers: A new improved shape reduces body roll without sacrificing ride comfort.
Low friction technology: With advanced tribology, it has been possible to create lower friction and thus higher durability. This contributes to ride quality and performance.
3 years warranty on all moving parts.

Single Tube damper design
The new Hipermax S series uses a "Single Tube" construction just like its predecessors. The advantage of this is that there is more space for a larger piston.
Inverted Shock Absorber
Large lateral forces are distributed over a larger surface area. A larger portion of the damper is now on the side of the body, reducing unsprung weight.
PNE Coating
HKS previously released a "snow edition" to combat corrosion. The result is the renewed PNE Coating that offers 5 times more protection than standard galvanizing.
"Kodawari" exterior
Kodawari is a Japanese term. It describes the obsession with perfection and attention to detail and dedication to creating the best possible product. So even the smallest details were considered in the design of this product.
Advanced Bump Rubber
HKS studied the use of bump stop rubbers during the development of the Hipermax MaxIV GT Spec-A. They developed a new type of rubber that makes contact earlier, with a gradual buildup. This results in smoother movement, eliminating unexpected movements and shocks. For the Hipermax S, this rubber has been further developed for even better ride comfort.
