TEIN Street Advance Z4

Lift and Ride Height Adjustment

STREET ADVANCE Z4 uses a thread type ride height adjustment system, where height is set by moving the lower spring seat up or down for a simple and easy setup. Standard ride height is set around 1 inch, roughly 25mm, higher than original, since the damper is specifically designed and tested per vehicle for this lifted position rather than being a standard damper simply raised, which would otherwise reduce rebound stroke and push the camber angle positive on strut suspensions. Damping force is adjustable across 16 levels for compression and rebound together, and the kit is also compatible with TEIN's EDFC range for electronic adjustment from the driver's seat.

Construction and Off Road Durability

STREET ADVANCE Z4 uses a twin tube damper structure for longer stroke and a smaller repulsive force than a mono tube design, giving a comfortable ride across varied and rough surfaces. It also features TEIN's Hydraulic Bump Stopper, which converts the impact of a full stroke into heat rather than letting it escape as a repulsive force, keeping the vehicle stable over big hits and reducing wear on the damper, useful both fully loaded and off road. The shell case is finished with TEIN's green powder coating, patented 2 layer, 1 bake anti rust treatment, and ZTP surface coating for protection against stone chips and corrosion.

Kit Contents and Springs

STREET ADVANCE Z4 uses the vehicle's original upper mounts rather than including its own, and some models also use OE dust boots. Included springs are cold formed from SAE9254 steel with a minimum tensile strength of 200 kgf per square millimeter, and are powder coated to resist sagging and corrosion over time. Conventional bump rubbers must still be fitted alongside the H.B.S. system to avoid damage.
